(Hesperia)–For current Hesperia Mayor, and City Council candidate, Thurston “Smitty” Smith, Hesperia is on the correct path towards establishing itself as a hub for retail and commercial success.

Smith, who is a business owner himself, is in his second consecutive term as Mayor and his wish is to continue in the council to see through projects that can bring Hesperia to a state of community and economic prosperity.

“I am committed to public safety, honesty and responsibility in government and residential road pavement,” Smith told High Desert Daily. “We are on the right path towards a better future. What we need right now is to keep our sights on helping small, medium and large businesses to come and grow in Hesperia.”

Smith also listed among his priorities the continued development of the Ranchero Underpass and declared himself against raising new taxes citywide.

When asked about the recent political attacks his campaign has been the subject of, Smith explained that he is not concerned with “allegations that are simply not true.”

The Mayor maintains a positive outlook for Hesperia and its citizens. He has lived here since 1988 and has witnessed many encouraging changes that have made this city a desirable place to live. “For the past two years, Hesperia has been the safest area in the entire High Desert, we have a lot of things to be proud about and my goal, when re-elected on November 2nd, is to continue achieving great things for all Hesperians.”
