(Victorville) The Victorville City Council approved on Tuesday night an expenditure plan of $134,801 that will be used by the Victorville Police Department to pay mainly for overtime for current personnel.
The approval by the City Council means a positive boost for Police Captain Cliff Raynolds, whose department has been affected by Victorville’s financial challenges in the past two years.
The 2010/2011 expenditure plan breaks down as follows according to council documents obtained by High Desert Daily: $15,000 for equipment; $2,000 for departmental supplies; $1 14,801 for special enforcement overtime and $3,000 for specialized training.
Funding for overtime will be destined to presently employed deputies and necessary support personnel for the purpose of increasing the number of hours worked by such personnel, documents stated.
