Positive boost: Victorville Healthy High Desert Program gets a $25K donation.

 (Victorville )–The City of Victorville received a  positve boost of support for their Healthy High Desert Program in the form of a $25,000 check from San Bernardino County Department of Public Health.

The donation was announced this week when the Victorville Chamber of Commerce hosted speakers from the Healthy High Desert coalition. 

Victorville Community Services Director Jon Gargan spoke about improvements such as bike/walking paths that the city has implemented as part of an effort to make it easier for residents to pursue a healthy lifestyle. It was at that moment that Gargan was surprised by the $25,000 check. 

 Anya Sage – St. Mary Medical Center, Jana Bullock – Desert Valley Medical Group, and Jennifer Resch-Silvestri – Kaiser Permanente also voiced concerns, offered solutions and discussed implementing new programs as part of the Healthy High Desert’s push to make all of the High Desert aware of ways to promote healthy work environments for all. 

As part of the Chamber’s support, a Business Builder Opportunity Workshop on Healthy Living/Workplace Wellness Programs will be held on January 25, 2011.
