(Adelanto) –The City of Adelanto is geared up to host its 7th Annual Christmas Parade, on December 11th at 10:00 a.m., beginning at the corner of Seneca/Aster Road and ending at Desert Trails Elementary School on Seneca Road/Bellflower Street.
This year’s parade promises to be very entertaining with marching bands, various floats representing clubs and organizations, drill teams, color guards, dancers, antique cars, equestrians, walking groups, etc. with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus on a red fire truck as a finale.
The Adelanto Community Benefit Corporation is once again providing an opportunity for school bands to compete for band supremacy in the High Desert. Bands will be judged on overall combined scores for presentation, choreography, and music.
The parade announcers will be K-FROG Radio’s Scott and Tommy.
At the conclusion of the parade, the public is invited to bring their children to visit Santa Claus in the Desert Trails School Cafeteria. Make sure to bring your cameras to capture your child’s moment with Santa. Ten – 6 foot stockings filled with toys and goodies are going to be raffled away. Simply fill out an entry raffle form, available throughout the parade, and place it in the drawing barrel located at the Parade Judges table. Winners will be notified at the conclusion of the parade by a City Official.
The parade results will be available on this web page following the parade. The awards ceremony will take place on January 12, 2011 during the City Council meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m.
Just like every year, this parade is fully funded by generous sponsors. A special thanks goes to the long list of Volunteers who make up the Parade Committee and who continuously strive to keep the holiday parade alive and raise community spirit.
