Emergency Alert: City Of Hesperia Asks Residents To Stay Home.

(Hesperia)–Most streets are heavily flooding, with rain expected throughout the day. All residents are asked to stay home if possible, to avoid becoming stranded. The City will continue to monitor the storm and road conditions. The following streets are currently closed:

Lemon from I Avenue to Timberlane
Choiceana from Verano to Lilac
Talisman from Moreno to Choiceana
C Avenue from Chestnut to Hercules
Santa Fe from Live Oak to Lemon
State Rt. 173 from Highway 138 to Lake Arrowhead Road
Rock Springs Road from Glendale to Deep Creek Road
C Avenue from Mojave to Mauna Loa
Mojave from C Avenue to Santa Fe
Mauna Loa from C Avenue to E Avenue
Eucalyptus from Maple to Primrose
Maple from Eucalyptus to Sycamore
E Avenue from Lemon to G Avenue
Lemon from Santa Fe to E Avenue
Talisman from Verano to Cactus
Cottonwood from Bear Valley to Sequoia
Eleventh from Bear Valley to Sequoia
Hickory from Orange to Walnut

Sandbags are currently available at Fire Station 302, located at 17288 Olive Street.

Winter Storm Alerts

The national weather service has issued a flood warning for our area. The Mojave River has already passed the flood stage with moderate flooding occuring in some locations. Heaviest rain is expected early Wednesday morning with the possibility of additional precipitation pushing the flooding further north. Main access roads may be closed for several days. Residents are requested to take precautionary measures.The City of Hesperia will continue to monitor the storm and post updates.
