(Victorville)—Just as this humble publication anticipated, Ryan McEachron is the new mayor of Victorville.
In a short ceremony, and with the blessing of the old guard, McEachron, a proud Victorville business owner and third generation resident, took over from past Victorville Mayor Rudy Cabriales. “The last two years have been quite a rollercoaster for me, my family and my business. This role as mayor is somewhat ceremonial, but I remember two years ago, when Rudy Cabriales was mayor and this council sent him to Venezuela (to discuss the possibility of selling multi-million dollar power plant equipment), I would have never wanted to do that, but it was necessary at the time and he was the right man for the job,” McEachron said in his acceptance speech.
McEachron has not been shy about his desire to create more local jobs and attract large companies and home builders to make Victorville their home.
The new mayor has also called for the end of the investigations of alleged wrong-doing by Victorville officials and has also called for First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt to stop his quest in taking control of the former George Air Force Base, know in the present as Southern California Logistics Airport.
After Terry Caldwell, McEachron, 37, becomes the second youngest Mayor of Victorville since its incorporation in 1962.
