(Phelan, CA)- – Attention trail riding enthusiasts! This weekend is the first American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA) local competition to benefit Under the Angel’s Wings Horse Rescue (UAWR.)
The trail ride consists of a 6-7 mile trail with an obstacle to perform about every mile. Competitors are divided into an Open division, Pleasure division and Youth (ages 7-15). Prizes will be awarded and all proceeds go to support the rescue of abused and abandoned horses.
For spectators, the final trail obstacle will be viewable from the campground and the others can be accessed with an easy hike. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available for purchase, profits also going to UAWR.
If you are a trail riding enthusiast and you would like to compete this weekend, you can still join ACTHA online and then register on the day of the competition. With your $35 ACTHA registration you also receive $125 worth of coupons and products. You can find out more about associated fees on the ACTHA website.
Another competition will be held March 13th. Volunteers are still needed for miscellaneous help this weekend as well as the upcoming competition in March.
Under the Angel’s Wings and Footprints Therapeutic Riding Center work together to give rescued horses a new purpose. Through classes aimed at providing healing exercise and emotional connections to children and adults with a variety of disabilities, horses in need are helping people in need.
