(Victorville)-Mayor Ryan McEachron delivered Wednesday morning a welcomed message of optimism that left members of the Victorville Chamber of Commerce feeling hopeful about the future.
During his State of the City address, McEachron highlighted the increase sales of automobiles, tax base and even the imminent construction of a high speed train that will transport residents from Victorville to Las Vegas.
The mayor also highlighted that Victorville is winning the war against crime with a 10% reduction in violent offenses over the previous years. McEachron also pointed out that the Victorville graffiti abatement team cleaned over 6,000 locations in 2010, which caused a huge round of applause for Victorville staff.
As first reported by High Desert Daily, McEachron acknowledged that Victorville will be ready by Friday to file a response to the federal government on the EB-5 program and said he was confident the program will be restored.
The speech was widely celebrated by members of the chamber and other local business leaders, all who congregated to support McEachron, who is fast becoming known as the “forward thinking mayor.”
Last but never least; McEachron thanked his wife Jennifer for her support during his over three months as Victorville Mayor. “Being the Mayor’s wife is incredible pressure and I have my wife to thank for her incredible support,” McEachron said.
