By Jim Nickerson

(Apple Valley)– Conrad Birdie has been drafted, but he is going to make one last live appearance on the “Ed Sullivan Show”, and is going to give ”One Last Kiss” onstage to Kim MacAfee of Sweet Apple Ohio, a girl chosen at random from his thousands of fan club members!

And so the comedy begins, with love triangles and musical numbers highlighting this delightful Tony Award-winning musical production, now on stage at the High Desert Center for the Performing Arts on 11th Street in Victorville.

Featuring Tony Winkle as Albert Peterson, Birdie’s manager and songwriter; Gini Watterson as Rose Alvarez, Albert’s long suffering girlfriend , Maureen Carlstrom as Mae Peterson, Albert’s overbearing mother and Bethany Richardson as the lucky Kim MacAfee. Dave Mancha plays the soon to be soldier Conrad Birdie.  The show sold out opening weekend, but there are three performances left; Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and a Saturday Matinee at 2:30.

Tickets are available at Tom’s Music in the Von’s Shopping Center on Bear Valley Road in Victorville or by calling (951) 206-6266.  Advance purchase is recommended so as not to be disappointed.

Bring the entire family for a great afternoon or evening of music and fun.
