Top 10 Things To See At The San Bernardino County Fair

(Victor Valley)–With so many amazing musical acts, award-winning pies, exciting motorcross events and funnel cake goodness to enjoy at this year’s County Fair, it is easy to get overwhelmed! Here is the lowdown on the ten events, sights and experiences you won’t want to miss!

1. Hometown Idol Stevie Wright Performs Friday May 20th

You have two opportunities (7 pm and 9:30 pm) to catch Phelan phenom Stevie Wright at the 1-800-THELAW2 Pavilion. A 2009 American Idol contestant, Wright will bring her personality and talent with a show the entire family can enjoy.

2. Jeffrey Perez Tribute to Michael Jackson Saturday May 21st

The King of Pop is loved around the world and one man aims to keep his legacy alive. After years of hard work mastering the moves, the music and the mannerisms, Perez has delighted fans with his Tribute show. He recently did a promotional appearance locally and was mobbed by fans and wowed crowds at a local Cinco de Mayo event. If you remember moonwalking as a kid or the first time you saw Thriller, this show is not to be missed! Two shows at 7 pm and 9:30 pm at the 1-800-THELAW2 Pavilion.

3. Lawnmower Racing on Tuesday May 17th and Wednesday May 18th

A YouTube sensation, lawn mower racing is coming to the fair! This will be fun for the whole family. Find the races at 6 pm and 9 pm in the Horse Arena. Who knows, it might even inspire you to mow the lawn!

4. Neverland Ranch Carnival Rides available all week

Soar on the Italian Swing and many other rides bought from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. You’ll have a thrilling time on these pieces of pop history! There will be over 40 rides for adults and children available, including those from the famed amusement park.

5. Turkey Stampede available all week

If your only brush with a turkey has been Thanksgiving dinner, you will be amazed at the size and strength of these birds when they’re on a mission! At 5 pm, 7 pm and 9pm (and 3 pm on weekends) in the Carnival Meadow, you can cheer for your favorite bird as it races around the track to victory.

6. Junior Livestock Auction on Thursday May 19th

Local 4-H and FFA students have been working and learning all year raising cattle, sheep, goats and more to auction at the fair. Money they earn goes to help them pay for college and is a valuable experience for the students. This event is not to be missed, even if you don’t have a barn to fill. In fact, if you purchase an animal to be processed, you can have it taken directly to be butchered, smoked, and ready to cook! The auction starts promptly at 3 pm, so come early to check out what you want to buy.

7. Creedence Clearwater Revisited on Wednesday May 18th

To be clear, this is NOT a tribute band – these guys are the real thing! Original members of Creedence Clearwater Revival have been touring since 1995, bringing the beloved music that changed rock and roll to fans around the world. Their platinum selling album Recollection is a favorite of fans young and old who love American rock.

8. Freestyle Motocross on Friday May 20th

Come to the grandstands at 7:30 to see gravity defying Ruler Flips, Cordoba Flips, Holy Grabs, Super-cans and more! Professional riders who have performed around the world will put it all on the line in live tricks. No nets, no smoke, no mirrors! A thrilling experience for everyone, age 2 to 122!

9. Adult Exhibitions available all week

For over a hundred years, county fairs have been the place to go compete with your top notch quilt, leatherwork, pies, salsas and more. Tour through the Desert Medical Choice building to see the amazing talent and skill of San Bernardino County! A timeless tradition that educates and inspires.

10. Kids Kountry available all week

The littlest visitors to the fair will enjoy their special place in Kids Kountry. Russel Brothers Circus, Kids Kountry Stage, Make n’ Take, Farmer for a Day, Doris Davies Kid Zone and Planet Animal each will entertain and educate your children. Games abound and roaming characters such as clowns, balloon performers, and BC Characters provide nonstop fun!
