(Apple Valley)– Say good bye to the scorching days of summer and say hello to an awesome autumn at the Apple Valley Fall Festival Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Civic Center Park.
This family friendly festival continues to grow each year drawing visitors from all over the high desert and beyond. Visitors to this year’s event can patronize retail and food vendors while country band “Against the Grain” plays from 10 a.m. to noon. The “Big Fat Steve Band” take the stage from 1 to 4 p.m. with their blend of blues, country and rockabilly that has garnered a large local following in the High Desert.
Returning this year is the Paint-A-Truck art opportunity, as well as the hay maze. Desert Valley Towing will provide the 1972 Ford F250 truck on which artists of all ages can show off their painting prowess, and visitors can wander through the giant hay maze planned and operated by local area Girl Scouts as a service project.
Children are invited to play in the Kid’s Zone or strut their stuff in the Little Apples on Parade that welcomes all stick horses, tot bikes, wagons, K-9 pals and strollers, and spend some time with the local wild life in the petting zoo.
Auto enthusiasts are encouraged to bring hot rods, classic cars, military vehicles, muscle cars or off road vehicles to the festival’s car show. There is no registration fee and participants may drive away with a $100 prize.
