Solar Panels To Provide Green Energy, Shade Parking

By Staff Reports

(Apple Valley)– The skeletal structure rising above the parking lot behind Town Hall is Apple Valley’s latest “Green Apple” project. The 364 solar panels that will double as shade for several parking spaces should be complete by the end of September. Funded by a $641,000 federal grant, the panels will produce 74 kilowatts per hour, or the equivalent of energy used by 25 households in one year.  Visit www.GreenApple Valley.org for more information on how to reduce, renew, reuse or recycle to make Apple Valley a “Better Way of Life.”
