Stars At The County Museum

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)–The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum invites visitors to Wish Upon a Star in the StarLab inflatable planetarium on Saturday, August 20. The 30-minute planetarium shows start at noon with timed tickets available at the museum’s front desk starting at 9 a.m. Seating is limited to the first 25 participants for each program. The cost for Wish Upon a Star is $1.00 per person plus regular museum admission.

“Visitors feel the same awe looking at stars and constellations within the StarLab planetarium as they do looking at the sky,” said Jolene Redvale, the museum’s curator of education. “Most people are familiar with Orion and the Big Dipper. At our star shows, visitors will learn how those two constellations fit into the traditions of the Navajo Indian people.”

StarLab programs are best suited for families and children over the age of 4. Shows are scheduled for noon, 12:45, 1:30, 2:45, 3:30 and 4:15 p.m.
