Nolan P. Smith
Nolan Smith has lived in Victorville for the past 23 years. A long time resident, he has seen what this desert can truly offer. He has been a reporter for High Desert Daily since May 2011.
Attending Excelsior Education Center, Nolan graduated the Senior of the Year for the Class of 2000, and his life has been going full steam ahead ever since. Graduating with newly acquired graphic designer skills from Excelsior due to his time in the Yearbook Club ( at one time, the founding and only member), he went on to do freelance graphic design work for magazines, record labels, lithograph companies and more. Nolan graduated from Victor Valley College in 2007 with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, and is now attending Full Sail University’s online program as he work towards his Bachelor’s Degree.
A longtime writer, Nolan is juggles his writing skills between prose, comic books and grants on a daily basis. Currently, he is compiling a book that brings artists and writers from around the globe together in an effort to show the world what the creativity that we all possess. The book is set for release in 2012.

Nikki Garrett Metzger
Has a degree in communications with a background in TV and radio. She has been heard on KATJ 100.7 FM in Victorville, Highway Radio in Barstow, and several Southern California radio stations reporting traffic and weather over the last 15 years. She also volunteers for San Bernardino County Fire with their Emergency Communications Service. Nikki is a social media and weather junkie, photographer, Ham radio rookie, communications addict, Pug lover, and foodie!
