(Apple Valley)– The Town of Apple Valley celebrates ownership of the Golf Course formerly known as the Apple Valley Country Club with a multi-day line-up of events.
The Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a mixer and ribbon cutting at the club house on Thursday, September 29 from 4 to 7 p.m.
A few spots still remain for golfers for the charity tournament on Saturday, October 1, presented by AVCO/Burrtec. The scramble format play will include on-course contests and a $5000 hole-in-one prize sponsored by Armstrong Fairway Insurance.
Check-in and continental breakfast begins at 8 a.m. for a 9 a.m. shotgun start with a scramble format. Registration is $80 for an individual player or $260 per foursome. Fees include cart rental, green fees, tee prizes, continental breakfast and award banquets.
Proceeds from the tournament will support the Town’s Healthy Apple Valley program.
The celebration will conclude Sunday with a “Demo Day” and open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tour the facilities and enjoy $1 hot dogs and beverages. Activities will include free mini lessons by PGA pros, a free bounce house and birdie ball hitting cage for the kids and displays by Titleist, Taylor Made, Cleveland and more.
The Apple Valley Golf Course is located at 15200 Rancherias Road at Highway 18 in Apple Valley. The course celebrates its 63rd anniversary under new ownership by the Town of Apple Valley and has played host to stars like Bob Hope, Desi Arnaz and championship golfers Arnold Palmer, Mike Souchak and others.
