CVWBC Announces: “Business Loan Fair, Explore Your Options!”

(Victor Valley)– The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center (CVWBC) will present “Business Loan Fair:  Explore Your Options!” on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the CVWBC office at 77806 Flora Road, Suite C in Palm Desert.  The cost for the event is $15 with online registration or $20 at the door; registrations should be completed by 5:00 p.m. on September 15.  To register online, visit the CVWBC website at For more information, call 760.345.9200.

This event is geared toward the entrepreneur who has questions about financing – how to obtain it, what the options are, how to create financial projections, what to do when the bank turns you down, and much more.  The event will begin with registration and networking from 7:30 to 8:00, which will include coffee and light snacks.

Featured speakers for the loan fair will include Stu Bailey, banker of 24 years, previous bank president, and current consultant to small and regional banks in the areas of sales and customer service training, who will speak on the lender’s perspective on lending.  Additional speakers include Shameca Tankerson of Wealth Builder’s Network, speaking on what to do when the bank turns you down; Carla Ulloa of CDC Community Development Corporation, speaking on microloans; Hilda Kennedy of AmPac TriState CDC, speaking on 504 loans; Lola Green of USA TaxExperts, speaking on funding your business with your 401K; and Brad Mix of the SBDC, speaking on creating your financial projections.

The CVWBC is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at California State University San Bernardino in partnership with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  The CVWBC provides free business counseling, training, mentoring, and networking designed for entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on women in business or women who want to start a business. The Center’s programs and services are targeted to a diverse range of needs and skill levels to meet client needs, providing services both in English and Spanish.  In an effort to encourage entrepreneurship, CVWBC provides assistance to all persons, regardless of gender, and in spite of the inference of our name.
