(Victor Valley) – If you love talking to people, learning new things, and have some free time, you might be the perfect volunteer for the Victor Valley Museum. The Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, and volunteers are needed for all of those times. Weekday morning volunteers usually talk to groups of children on school field trips. Afternoon and weekend visitors are families and individuals.
Volunteer training will take place from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the museum, located at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. Volunteers will learn about the museum and learn techniques to interact with visitors about several museum-related topics during this 2 ½ hour training. Participants will even be able to see education programs in action during a Family Fun Day scheduled at the Victor Valley Museum on the same day.
Volunteer applications will be available at this training session, or you may print up the on-line application and bring it with you. The application can be found at www.sbcounty.gov/museum/volunteer/volunteer_form.htm. As a volunteer trainee, you will be admitted to the museum for free on October 1 if you have made a reservation by September 30. Please phone 909-307-2669, ext. 256, to make your reservation or if you have questions about volunteering.
