(Victorville) The holiday season is always one full of juggling schedules and high stress levels, so why not avoid a major holiday stressor and help a great local cause all at the same time? Then drop by the Mall of Victor Valley and let the Boys and Girls Club take away the headache of wrapping presents, as well as enter for a shot at some outstanding prizes just when you need them most.

Once again, the Boys and Girls Club of the Victor Valley (BGCVV) has set up a gift-wrapping station in the mall along with their Annual Christmas Tree Raffle & Giveaway. Located in front of Customer Service, the club’s volunteers and staff are ready to wrap anything you purchased, from the small to the odd sized. Donation levels are set according to the size of the gift, and all proceeds go directly to help our local Boys and Girls Club. High Desert Daily caught up with BGCVV Executive Director of Mark Sawyer at the mall to find out a little more about this event.

The major raffle prize every year is the massive, professionally decorated 7 foot tall Christmas tree. The tree is the centerpiece of the club’s set up, and will be raffled off on December 12th. Not only will the winner get the tree, they will get much more. “This is our fourth year, and in addition to the tree, I go around to the merchants of the mall, I have 63 merchants who have donated over 3,200 dollars of gift certificates, gift bags, gift items and more to go with this tree. So the winner of the tree gets the tree shrunk wrapped and delivered to their house free of charge as well as all the gift certificates and items.”

In addition to the tree, there are many other raffles that can be entered in directly at the mall. Sawyer spoke with pride of all the companies who have donated to help make this a possibility: companies include Burrtec and Desert Community Bank among many others. Prizes include a 14 piece bedroom set from Ashley Furniture, a 1 hour flight for two with breakfast, rounds of golf from various golf courses in the High Desert, a CBS backstage tour at Television City, a custom made Mullenhauer guitar, a lunch with Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt, a J. Michaels Salon and Spa romantic package, as well as a signed, framed and authenticated John Elway Jersey.

The Boys and Girls Club will be at the mall until December 23rd, with the Christmas tree raffle on the December 12th, and all the other prizes raffled off on the 23rd.
