United Furniture Industries at SCLA to Hire More Employees

(Victorville) – Management with United Furniture Industries, the furniture maker that has recently leased space at Southern California Logistic Center (SCLC) has announced that they are looking to hire more workers before their official opening on November 14th.

“What we’re looking for are folks that have some upholstery experience,” said Bob Cottam with United Furniture Industries (UFI). “Maybe people who are living down the hill and would like to come back up, or who are going down the hill to work with some of our competitors and would like to work up here again.”

UFI has already held a job fair locally. Cottam said, “What we’re trying to do is find some skill sets that we don’t think we found in our first pass out there.”

Cottam continued, “We are looking for people with upholstery experience. Or folks that have been in the garment industry, because we will do more cutting and sewing. Carpenters work fine, but we’d love to have people who have upholstered furniture before.”

UFI has contracted with ICR Staffing in Victorville to handle applications and screening of applicants. To reach ICR call 760-241-8615 or visit their website www.icrjobs.com.

United Furniture Industries (UFI), a manufacturer of furniture that is sold primarily under the Simmons brand name, will occupy a 505,192-square-foot industrial facility at SCLC. Based in Mississippi, UFI has signed an agreement that will position the company with a West Coast manufacturing and distribution facility to better serve Southern California and Western U.S. markets, according to Stirling Development, the lease management company
