(Apple Valley) – Now that the cold weather season is upon us, you might want to attend the Mojave Water Agency’s next lecture in theirABCs of Water series on Tuesday, November 15th. This month the topic is “How to Prepare and Avoid Winter Emergencies”. This session is designed to help you prepare to winterize your home against water-related emergencies. Information on protecting against other utility-related emergencies will also be provided.
The speakers will be Bob Postorino from Southwest Gas, Chandra Kiron Molleti from Southern California Edison and speakers from the City of Hesperia Water Department. They will discuss how to prepare your water lines and irrigation system for the winter freeze, how to insulate your pipes, where your shut-off valves might be in case of an emergency (electric and gas as well), and other emergency related items.
As with their other sessions, this will be educational and you may want to bring a notebook to take notes.
The ABCs of Water sessions take place at the Mojave Water Agency office:
13846 Conference Center Drive in Apple Valley, across the street from the main
Apple Valley fire station near Central Road and Highway 18. They start at 5:30pm and usually go until 7:00pm.
