Winter Storm Warning In Effect For The Victor Valley Until 10 AM Tuesday

(Victor Valley) -– Monday started out cold and cloudy, but by early afternoon reports were

coming in of CHP escorts through the Cajon Pass and pictures of snow on Phelan Road

in Phelan.

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Winter Storm Warning from

10pm Monday until 10am tomorrow morning for the High Desert, including Apple Valley,

Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto, El Mirage, Helendale and Lucerne Valley. Snow levels

near 3500 feet on Monday night and will lower to near the Valley floor  through mid-

morning Tuesday.

“We will see a dusting of snow at the lower elevations, down to 2500 feet,” said

Meteorologist Joe Dandrea with NWS in San Diego. “We could see three to six inches

in the foothills. Temperatures will be between 26-33 degrees overnight.”

NWS reported rainfall totals today: Victorville recorded 0.14 inch, El Mirage 0.23 inches, and

Apple Valley 0.06 inch. Last report of snow in Wrightwood was 4 inches of snow. Lake Arrowhead

also reported 4 inches.  Reports were not yet available for other mountain areas.
