(Apple Valley)–Anyone who hasn’t yet gotten into the holiday spirit should stop by Civic Center Park on Saturday for the Winter Wonderland and Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Holiday cheer will abound at this family friendly event featuring train rides, inflatables, crafts, pictures with Santa, information and giveaways, live entertainment and falling snow from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Town of Apple Valley is grateful to the following businesses that will be on hand to provide free goodies to visitors including candy, muffins, coupons, pencils, hot beverages, cotton candy and more: Caremore Health, Apple Valley Kiwanis Club, Mimi’s Café, American Cancer Society, John’s Incredible Pizza, Girl Scout Troop 357, Starbucks, O’dells, and CubeSmart-UStore It.
High Desert Mavericks mascot Wooly Bully will make an appearance from 5 to 6 p.m. the Apple Valley Fire Protection District will take donations for its Spark of Love toy drive, the Kiwanis Club will be ringing the Salvation Army kettle bell, and Girl Scout Troop 357 will collect bottled water, non-perishable snacks, toiletries and emergency supplies to make “Kits of Compassion” to give to the needy.
The event will culminate with the lighting of a new 21-foot “Tree of Lights” sponsored by Agio Real Estate. Admission and parking are free.
