(Victor Valley)–Victor Valley College will be having a wide variety of talent on hand for the third annual Variety Show on January 6th and 7th at 7:30pm The evening’s performances showcase a variety of entertainment. Such as comedy, singing, dance, magic, and other specialty acts with majority of the performers being students at Victor Valley College.
The opening act of the show will be a group called “Artistic Movement”. “They will be bringing modern upbeat energetic dance routine. There will also be a contemporary modern dance piece as well as a ballet piece that will leave the audiences with a satisfied smile said,” said Off Broadway Club Vice President Gregory Harbor. The Variety Show is hosted by the Off Broadway Performing Arts Club.
In the past the club has had two successful Variety Shows with an amazing turnout. Victor Valley College Student Jake Lough said, “The Variety Show this year has nothing but great performers and comical acts. The show overall will be enjoyable for families, and there should definitely be another Variety Show.” Off Broadway Club member Bella Garcia stated, “The dancers, singers, and overall performers have great talent and this is a perfect opportunity to showcase their talent.
The first Variety Show will consist of both family and college entertainment. The second Variety Show was for adult and college students do to the humor and content of the show. However, this third show is directed towards family audience where kids, teenagers, and parents will enjoy.
A majority of the proceeds from the show will help the club fund other activities related to the Fine Arts. The Off Broadway Vice President, Gregory Harbor said, “This event is a great avenue for Victor Valley College to showcase student talent.
In many cases students have to fit into a part that does not show case the best of their abilities. In the Variety Show students are able to do what they do best. The Variety Show allows the artist to implement their artistic vision.”
This is what attracted Jeremiah Brosowske to addition for the role of Master of Ceremonies. Mr.Brosowske said, “Events like the Variety Show will enhance my speaking abilities. This and other events at Victor Valley College have allowed me to expand my horizons. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a talented cast.”
The event will be located at the Victor Valley College Performing Arts Center, On January 6th and 7th at 7:30pm. The show itself is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a 15 minute intermission.
Tickets can be purchases at the door with cash only. General Admission is 5 dollars, Children 12 and under are 3 dollars. ASB Card Holders are free. High Desert Daily readers will receive $2 dollars off with this, or any High Desert Daily article.
