(Apple Valley)– When residents visit the Town of Apple Valley Parks and Recreation Department to sign up for a program, chances are one of the first faces they will see is that of Christine McCaffrey.
Her positive, professional manner in which she handled more than 13,000 program registrations and 11,000 facility reservations last year is only one of the reasons why she was named employee of the quarter for the Town of Apple Valley. Christine has been an Office Assistant for the Parks and Recreation Department for more than seven years.
“The recreation office can be a very busy and demanding environment and Christine has oftentimes been a one-woman show due to the staff shortages,” said Administrative Secretary Christina Rudsell.
The town offers more than 100 types of programs throughout the year in addition to facility rentals at multiple town-owned properties. McCaffrey’s co-workers laud her as the “go-to” person when it comes to managing numerous changes and cancellations that occur with the department’s programs, classes and sports leagues.
“Christine manages the many changes that come about from rentals, program uses and classes with almost computer-like efficiency,” explained Ralph Wright, Parks and Recreation Manager.
