Community Coalition Meeting To Address Local Drug Issues

By Staff Reports

(Victorville)— A Community Coalition meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, February 16, at Hook Community Center, 14973 Joshua St. This will be the first in a series of meetings where High Desert community members are invited to voice concerns about local drug and alcohol issues as well as offer ideas about working in partnership to create effective solutions. The Coalition meeting is an opportunity for community members to come together and address issues that affect health and safety in the High Desert.

This first meeting will primarily focus on synthetic drugs in our community, including information about the dangers they create, especially among youth. The meeting will include discussion about how to reduce availability of these drugs, raise awareness of the health risks and address dangerous behaviors synthetic drugs often cause.

Your participation is needed to create a healthier and safer community. Refreshments will be provided.
