(Victor Valley)–A Family Fun Day at the Victor Valley Museum in Apple Valley will invite visitors to experience life in Southern California in the 1880s during “1880s at Work and Play.” Visitors can try washing clothes with a washboard and tub, beating a rug, and playing with old fashioned toys. All activities are included with paid museum admission. Family Fun Days are designed for families with children ages 3 and above. Activities are scheduled between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
“This is a day of fun, hands-on activities that are great ways to experience aspects of everyday life more than 100 years ago,” said Carla Rosenkild, museum educator. “It’s a real eye-opener for kids who are more familiar with washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and video games.”
The Victor Valley Museum is at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. Admission is $5 (adult), $4 (senior or military), and $2.50 (student). Children under 5 and San Bernardino County Museum Association members are free. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.
