(Victor Valley) – This week is National Volunteer Week. This is a time to celebrate and appreciate those who work tirelessly to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in our community. It’s about demonstrating that by working together, in unison, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals.
National Volunteer Week is not only our moment in time to celebrate our volunteers, but to enable those in our community to share ideas, practices, and stories, wherever they happen.
There are countless opportunities in the High Desert to get involved and volunteer. We invite you to participate in one or more of the amazing projects occurring throughout the week. You could also get involved by reading to children, assembling activity kits for children in the hospital, organizing a food drive for families in need, building a trail- the list goes on and on.
A SMALL list of organizations in the High Desert include: High Desert Resource Network, the United Way, the Red Cross, High Desert Phoenix Foundation, Family Assistance Program (formerly High Desert Domestic Violence Program), local animal shelters (like PAL Humane Society), local churches, schools, and SO many more great organizations!
