Crystal McKee Kicks Off Concerts In The Courtyard In Apple Valley

By Nikki Garrett Metzger

(Apple Valley) – The evening air carried the soulful sounds of Crystal McKee as she performed for a full house to kick off the return of Concerts in The Courtyard at Apple Valley Commons.

McKee has an amazing voice and a great range.  She is warm and funny, and the crowd really loved her. Her performance included several covers of contemporary songs, classics, and as she called them, “Oldies but goodies.”  I was impressed with how she went from Coldplay’s “Clocks” right to Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” seamlessly.

There were several families in the crowd, and children were dancing with the ice cream cone character from the local yogurt shop. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening.

Next Thursday brings The Albert Miranda Projkt (Positive Alternative) to the Courtyard.

The free Concerts in the Courtyard happen every Thursday in May from 5:30-7:30pm at Apple Valley Commons.  Be sure to bring a chair because seating fills up fast!
