(Victor Valley)– – Lorraine Frost, interim vice president of information resources and technology at California State University, San Bernardino and the university’s chief information officer, was recognized as the Outstanding Leader of the Year in the Security Industry.
Frost received a Global Excellence Award in the Executive Category at the Eighth Annual 2012 Global Excellence Awards in San Francisco in February. The event honored excellence in all facets of the information security industry, including products and services, people behind the successes and best companies.
Frost, who has worked in the technology field for more than 31 years, was recognized for her support and advocacy of information security awareness.
For the past seven years, she has played a key role to promote training and awareness in information security for higher education as planning chair for the SecureIT conference,http://secureitconf.com, which celebrated its 10th annual event in March in Ontario. The conference brought together information security professionals from the three California higher education institutions – University of California, California State University and California Community Colleges.
In addition, she is an active member of the professional organization, Information Systems Security Association, Inland Empire Chapter, where she serves as the secretary.
Frost holds bachelor degrees in psychology and computer science and a master’s degree in psychology from Cal State San Bernardino.
