(Victorville) – Crews will continue to require nighttime lane closures of Interstate 15 for work in the center median. Motorists can expect the freeway to be reduced to one lane in both directions through Thursday this week between the hours of 9:00 pm and 5:00 am.
These nighttime closures are critical for the safety of both the motorists and crew members as the project team conducts excavation and shoring activities. In addition, materials are trucked in at night for daytime pile driving activities.
No detour is required as one lane will remain open at all times. Motorists are encouraged to slow down in construction zones and seek alternative times of travel when possible.
The La Mesa/Nisqualli project is the construction of a new interchange on Interstate 15 between Bear Valley Road and Palmdale Road (State Route 18) to improve both residential and business access, as well as overall operation of the freeway. Connecting La Mesa Road on the west and Nisqualli Road on the east will provide much-needed relief to the heavily traveled interchanges in the area and improve local circulation in the city of Victorville. The project is a collaboration between SANBAG, the City of Victorville and Caltrans.
