Rabies Vaccination Clinic To Protect Pets At A Reduced Cost

(Apple Valley)–The Apple Valley Animal Services Department will offer a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic Wednesday, June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the municipal animal shelter.

Rabies shots are $6 each and other vaccines are available at a reduced cost. Microchip services are only $20. Cash only please. Same-day license renewal is offered for town residents only.

Additional vaccination clinics will be held at the shelter on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. every other month in 2012:

  • August 1.
  • October 3
  • December 5

The municipal animal shelter is located at 22131 Powhatan Road just east of Quinault Road. Seniors and disabled residents of Apple Valley who are unable to transport their pets to an animal hospital or vaccination clinic are encouraged to schedule an appointment for the clinic to come to them.

Animal Services will offer a “Shelter on the Stray” mobile vaccination clinic July 21 and November 17 for cats and dogs between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients must call to schedule an appointment.
