(Victor Valley) – Today is the day! It’s the 20th annual campaign to Stamp Out Hunger. This is the day that you bag up non-perishable food items and leave it by your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up.
Across the nation over 200,000 letter carriers will be collecting food donations in order to provide assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling with hunger each and every day.
Letter carriers will pick up the bags during their normal routes for delivery to local food banks or churches. As you can imagine, their postal vehicles get pretty full pretty quickly and they usually make several trips back to the main office to drop off the goods.
Donate items such as canned meats and fish (like tuna), soup, juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal, rice, and crackers.
No glass containers and no expired foods.
Campbell Soup Company will kick off this year’s food drive with a pledge to donate one million pounds of food to Feeding America.
