(Victor Valley)- – Opportunities for college students to stay on track toward graduation – or even move ahead of schedule – or to take that class they couldn’t get during the regular academic year, will be plentiful this summer at Cal State San Bernardino.
While many local colleges and other institutions have limited and even canceled their summer sessions, CSUSB will once again offer a full schedule of summer courses this year.
Courses are not only open to current Cal State San Bernardino students and those who have been accepted for the fall, but also to students who attend other colleges and universities and are looking to take courses during the summer. By planning early, students can work with their home institution to identify courses that will transfer back into their degree program.
“Students who elect to take classes during the summer have the advantage of either getting ahead or getting back on track to graduate in a timely manner,” said CSUSB Provost Andrew Bodman. “This is especially beneficial to those students who might need to take courses that were full or otherwise unavailable during the traditional academic year. And they can do it at a time of the year when lines are shorter and when traffic and parking are easier.”
Current Cal State San Bernardino students can register for courses online by following the same process as other academic quarters. Separate application forms will be available for students who have been admitted for fall 2012 at CSUSB and for summer visiting students from community colleges and other universities.
Interested students should call the 2012 summer session information line at (909) 537-3978 or visit summer.CSUSB.edu for more information.
Fees for the 2012 summer session at CSUSB will be the same as those paid during the regular school year. Mandatory campus fees will also apply. These fees will apply to continuing and newly admitted students. Fee questions can be addressed by calling the 2012 summer session information line at (909) 537-3978.
The regular 10-week summer session begins June 20 and ends Sept. 5. However, students can choose to participate in accelerated six-week sessions, which take place at two intervals, June 20-July 31 and Aug. 1-Sept. 6.
Priority registration for current and newly admitted Cal State San Bernardino students is May 7-23. Open enrollment is May 24-June 8. For more information on how to register for 2012 summer session courses, see summer.CSUSB.edu.
