Sunset Concert Series continues June 28 with live music, dancing and food
(Apple Valley)–Are you wondering how to beat summer boredom? The Town of Apple Valley has “The Answer.”
Join in on the fun Thursday, June 28 when Desert Valley Hospital presents the Sunset Concert Series featuring the classic rock sounds of “The Answer” band at the amphitheater at Civic Center Park from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Town of Apple Valley is the only venue in the high desert offering free weekly concerts every Thursday night. The event features food vendors, a beer garden by the Apple Valley Rotary Club, live music and dancing. The park has inclined lawn seating for more than 1,500 people, so concert goers should bring blankets or portable chairs.
There will be no concert on July 5, but the music returns on July 12 with the popular “Phat Cat Swingers,” and continue Thursdays through August 9. The entertainment line-up for the rest of the summer includes:
- July 12 – Phat Cat Swinger (Swing)
- July 19 – Four Shadows Fall (Positive Alternative)
- July 26 – The Gypsy Dolls (Pop/Variety)
- August 2 – The Silverados (Country)
- August 9 – Cold Duck (Oldies/R&B)
Civic Center Park is adjacent to Apple Valley Town Hall and across from Super Target in the Apple Valley Commons shopping center. Parking and admission are free. The Town is seeking additional sponsors to ensure the success of the 2012-2013 events season.
