Chair-Elect Accepts New Position In San Bernardino

By Staff Reports

(Victorville)–The Chamber would like to wish departing Board Member Dr. Dale Marsden, all the success in his new position as Superintendent of San Bernardino City Unified School District. Dale has been a board member since 2007, serving as Co-Chair of the Legislative Action Committee, VP of Economic Enhancement, VP of Business Services, and worked with our foundation and the Alliance for Education.

Dale has worked for over 17 years with Victor Elementary School District. Starting out as a teacher, and rising through the ranks to principal, district level administration, and finally as superintendent of the district. VESD has twice received an award from the California Council for Excellence naming VESD as one of the top districts in the state. As a whole, VESD has one of the highest district wide API test scores in the state of California with an API score of 809.

They also have two schools with test scores over 900 and almost half of the schools are above the “coveted” 800 API score. We’re sure Dr. Marsden will bring his same focus and direction to his new district.
