(Victorville) The event all gamers look forward to every year is almost upon us. Starting June 5th, the annual E3 Expo will take over the Los Angeles Convention Center once again. So, what are the biggest games poised to make a splash this year?
The house of Mario looks to be leading the pack when it comes to buzz this year. Nintendo will be showing off more on its upcoming system, the Wii U, including the hardware specifications, the software that will be available at launch, and even more software for Nintendo’s handheld system, the 3DS. Nintendo kicks off the official start to E3 with its press conference on the morning of June 5th. What will we see launch with the Wii U? The trademark Mario or Luigi game? A new installment in the popular Smash Brothers series? E3 will hopefully hold the answers.
Many eyes will be on Capcom this year, as the next installment to their massively popular zombie franchise Resident Evil hits stores this fall. Resident Evil 6 is garnering a massive amount of buzz already, so what is shown at E3 will no doubt push the buzz to the next level. Capcom also plans to display more on the relaunch of another beloved franchise, Devil May Cry. Titled DmC, the game gives the white haired protagonist Dante an all-new look, with gameplay that aims to please fans of the series thus far.
There are quite a few titles already announced that gamers around the world have their sights set on. For one is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III, which takes players into the era of the Revolutionary War alongside George Washington himself. THQ has a pair of sequels ready to please fans: Darksiders II and Metro: Last Light. Disney Interactive has the sequel to Epic Mickey on tap, which will be making its way to all three home consoles this year.
Of course, the surprise factor is always cranked up when it comes to E3. This past week alone, new titles for the Gears of War and Star Wars franchises were announced, sure to make a splash at the expo. A brand new game was announced as well: WB Games showed off Injustice: Gods Among Us, an all new fighting game from the makers of Mortal Kombat that brings together the heroes and villains of the DC Comics Universe.
High Desert Daily will be on hand for the expo, bringing you the best the convention floor has to offer.
