(Victorville)–An estimated 3,000 people attended Wednesday night Excelsior Public Charter School’s Graduation of the High School class at the main campus.

A roaring crowd cheered on the 279 graduates, lead by Valedictorian Brianna Hernandez and Salutatorian Chandler Lowry many of them off to prestigious colleges.

“This is a proud day for the High Desert indeed,” said Excelsior Outreach Coordinator Derek King. “This was a very motivated class and I am sure they are going to do very well in college.”

With moving and inspirational speeches the graduating class shared laughs as each were called to receive their diploma in front of proud High Desert parents.

King also said that many of the graduates already have college credits to their name because of the school’s programs that allow for this to happen. “Not only do they take classes, but they also do it at colleges thanks to our partnership with Victor Valley College and Barstow College.”

King finalized by revealing a pretty benign Senior Prank. “For this event we placed 3,000 chairs out on Tuesday night. By the time we arrived for school on Wednesday, all but 279 chairs were back folded and on the floor, needless to say we had out work cut out.”
