(Victor Valley )– It is mid June and the first day of summer happens midweek this week, Wednesday, June 20th. The temperatures will continue to be very summer-like: sunny and hot.
This afternoon we’ll see windy conditions as a trough of low pressure moves over the Great Basin to the east of the High Desert. We should see winds 25 mph with possible gusts 45-50 mph, according to the National Weather Service in San Diego. Also the temperatures will be slightly cooler, by about five degrees, only topping out around 95 degrees.
Winds will gradually decrease through Tuesday afternoon as the trough of low pressure moves east. Temperatures should top out again around 94 degrees.
High pressure expands from the southwest for Wednesday and Thursday bringing warmer temperatures – high around 99 degrees for Wednesday and 97 for Thursday.
For the weekend cooler temperatures as the ridge of high pressure weakens, bringing gusty winds once again. Highs should be in the low 90s.
