No Effect on Student Transfer Credits
(Victorville)–Victor Valley College is listed among six California colleges that remain on probation following a spring review by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Despite its probationary status, VVC’s accreditation remains intact.
Currently, VVC holds Transfer Admission Guarantees with seven University of California schools and three agreements with private universities.
While college officials await formal notice from ACCJC, Dr. Christopher C. O’Hearn, superintendent/president said he and the Board of Trustees are moving forward to ensure VVC continues to make progress.
“Restoring VVC’s accreditation is our top priority,” O’Hearn said. “We have made significant progress and look forward to the opportunity to complete this work. Our faculty and staff have worked diligently, and will continue to move us forward into reaffirmed accreditation.”
During the July 10 regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting, O’Hearn will brief the board on the accreditation status.
The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) in conjunction with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges serves as the reviewing authority for Victor Valley College.
