(Victor Valley)–The Mavericks Baseball Team is doing more than sliding in to home plate these days.  They have teamed up with High Desert Events to sponsor the upcoming First Annual Mavericks Music, Mud & Crazy Obstacle 5K Mud Run.  The mud run happens this Saturday, July 21st at Mavericks Stadium in Adelanto.

This is a great opportunity to get some good exercise, and at the same time play in the mud and enjoy local talent. Plus you feel good at the end of the day because of it was all for a good cause.

The course is designed to be challenging, messy, and loads of fun! Obstacles along the way include mud pits, muddy hills, muddy slides, muddy crawls, a tunnel, tire hills, a wall and more. The mud run will feature chip timing, awards to the top three men and women in each division and relay teams.

Racers will be motivated by live music playing throughout the race course, in the stadium and at the finish line.  Local bands will be featured, including Cadaver Pudding, Boss Tweed, Aubade, Organized Chaos, Joe Bird & F&I_P.

Proceeds from this run will benefit The Veterans Home of California of Barstow, Sultana High School Avid Program and High Desert Youth Center; all worthwhile local organizations.

Registration is still open for the Mavericks Mud Run and more details can be found online at:

HD Events has several more charitable races planned through 2012.  For more information visit:
