(Victor Valley) – There will be a chance of thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts today through Wednesday due to a moist, southeast flow over the area. Thunderstorms that develop may consist of brief, heavy downpours, cloud to ground lightning and possibly some small hail.
The ridge of high pressure that continues to sit over Texas is helping to bring moisture up from Mexico that could possibly bring showers and thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts through midweek. We could also see showers overnight tonight.
The National Weather Service in San Diego says that the high moisture levels with storms that may develop will elevate the flash flood potential. It looks like the best chance for showers over our area will be Tuesday. We should see daytime highs this week in the low to mid 90s with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
Starting Wednesday into Thursday the moisture will shift slightly east over Arizona. However enough moisture and instability will remain that we could still see afternoon thunderstorms.
