(Victor Valley)–The Route 66 Rendezvous Cruisin Hall of Fame recognizes and honors individuals who have had a significant involvement in the automotive industry and the love of the American Culture of cruising. The “Cruisin’ Hall of Fame” was established in 1995 by the SBCVB, in conjunction with the City of San Bernardino.
Vic Slick, who has been the voice of the Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous since its inception in 1990, will be awarded with the Cruisin’ Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement on opening night. Vic has been more than just a voice: he has hosted hour long specials for the rendezvous and is an ambassador for the rendezvous at every car show that he attends.
President and CEO of the San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau, Wayne Austin, stated: “He’s never missed any of our rendezvous celebrations and his voice is very recognizable. It’s very fitting that we honor Vic for all of the excitement he has instilled with his dedication over the years.”
Vic will be honored during the opening ceremonies of the Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous on Thursday, September 13 at 6:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Hospitality VIP area. “My favorite part of the Rendezvous is Sunday morning,.” says Slick. “I love to go early in the morning and talk with the car guys to hear their story. There’s a story behind every car!
