(Victorville)–We’d like to extend a big welcome to Kaye Walraven of Abengoa, Solar, Inc. She has worked for Abengoa Solar Inc. since 2008 and previously, worked for 20 years with Omya, a privately owned multi-billion dollar mining company located in Lucerne Valley. She has been chosen to fill the open position on our Board.
Kaye is no stranger to the Chamber since becoming involved in numerous committees the last couple of years. She has served on the Legislative Action Committee of which she also Co-Chaired last year, the new Stride Ride Glide Committee, Brentwood Education Task-Force and is a graduate of Leadership Victor Valley. Kaye commented, “I joined the Legislative Action Committee as laws and regulations strongly affect our business. However, I have learned a great deal about how our city, county and state operate.
I also have been reminded how important it is to vote for responsible people who care about our business community as there are some very wacky laws some have tried to pass or did pass which hurt business.
Through these committees and attending or helping with various Chamber events, I have met some wonderful people who put their time and talents into making our business community a success by building lasting relationships and providing opportunities to get involved.”
