It is with pleasure that San Bernardino County Fire announces Mike Antonucci as the Manager of the County Office of Emergency Services.
“With over 30 years of experience in emergency management, fire, rescue and emergency medical services, Mike has the vast knowledge and experience needed to lead the county’s Office of Emergency Services,” stated Fire Chief Mark Hartwig. “I am confident Mike is the best choice when it comes to serving the County Operational Area.”
Antonucci recently retired after 6 years serving the citizens of Upland as their fire chief. He started his career as a firefighter in northern California. He then served in the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services before becoming the fire chief in California City, where he served for 8 years.
The Office of Emergency Services (OES) Division is responsible for countywide disaster planning and Emergency Management coordination and executing the four phases of Emergency Management: planning, response, recovery, and mitigation. As such, OES serves as the lead agency for the San Bernardino County Operational Area, coordinating disaster preparedness efforts with the 24 cities and towns, over 40 County departments, a multitude of Special Districts, the private sector and volunteer organizations. OES also facilitates multi-agency and interagency coordination at the local, state, and federal levels.
“I look forward to leading the Office of Emergency Services with the goal of further expanding the Cities, Special Districts and County’s efforts in disaster and emergency preparedness,” stated Mike Antonucci.
Mike loves spending quality time with his two grandchildren. He also enjoys playing his guitar, diving and traveling.
Cindy Serrano has graciously served as OES Manager since the retirement of Denise Benson in January.
