(Hesperia)—It was a gorgeous Saturday in Hesperia, perfect for the grand opening of the newest fitness center to grace the High Desert, Kokomo Fitness. Residents came together for free group sessions to see how the gym works among other activities, and ended the day with a night full of punches, kicks and grapples courtesy of a wrestling event that was free for all.
Dustin Bogle, the Owner of Kokomo Fitness, was all smiles Saturday as residents came out to show their support and interest. Visitors were treated to free group work out sessions, which Hesperia resident James Pedregon and his brother took part in. Pedregon shared his experience of the workout with High Desert Daily, “Me and my brother tried out their boot camp day, and it was awesome. We did push ups, whipping the rope, jumping jacks, and high steps: it was all cardio. I am definitely looking at joining.”
Doug Porter of Apple Valley took a moment to reflect on his thoughts of the new gym, and why he likes it better than the larger chains. “It’s great, it’s very cozy inside, and it makes me actually want to work out. As compared to the big bunker style gyms where there are thousands of people around you and you don’t even want to remotely try to do any work because you would be embarrassed.”
Josh Gilmore of Hesperia shared in the positive opinions of Kokomo and their approach, “I talked to Dustin, he’s a good friend of mine, and he said it’s going to be very tight, one-on-one training. Not like the chain gyms where you just go in, get your stuff done, and get out. With Dustin, the training is going to be centered on you.”
Earlier in the week, Kokomo Owner Dustin Bogle broke down why his gym is unlike the others that neighbor the High Desert. “Kokomo Fitness is unlike most gyms in the High Desert because we care about our customers. We provide one-on-one training and group training to all members for under $6 a session. Most fitness clubs sign up members under a multiple year contract then leave them to fend for themselves on how to exercise effectively. We are here to get people results and our personal training studio specializes in helping our clients burn off belly fat while naturally boosting energy levels. Our trainers are certified in Cardio Kickboxing, Circuit Training, Yoga, Pilates, CrossFit and Weight Training.”
The night ended with a wrestling event featuring the wrestlers from Alpha Omega Wrestling, as well as former TNA Wrestling stars The Young Bucks, who grappled in the night’s main event. Even Kokomo’s own Dustin Bogle couldn’t resist getting in the ring, as he teamed up with The Young Bucks for the night’s big six-man tag main event. Bogle and the Bucks were victorious: a great ending to a great grand opening here in the desert.
