(Victorville)-– The City of Victorville is gearing up for its city-wide Community Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 20, 2012. For this event, a number of local and national companies have joined as sponsors of the event. Sponsors provide support with a $250 donation, providing them with their logo placement on event t-shirts, in printed collateral and flyers, and in advertisements. Volunteers who help collect litter will receive a free t-shirt and discount coupons for lunch at participating Victorville restaurants.

- Gold West Mobile Home Park
- Shear Realty
- Valley Sporting Goods
- Victorville Disposal (Burrtec Waste Industries)
- Nutro Products, Inc.
Past events have brought out over 400 volunteers, designated to pick up in 25 different areas around the city, and this event is expected to bring out even more. A number of local corporations and community organizations have also designated teams within their organizations to join in the cleanup efforts.
The Victorville Community Cleanup Day is a semi-annual event, held in October and April. The event began in October 2007. Since then, more than 4,000 volunteers have worked together to collect over 37 tons of litter from Victorville roadsides. Volunteers are still being accepted and sponsorships are still available. The deadline to register for this October’s event is October 4th.
