(Apple Valley)– It is so easy to save a life and only takes a few minutes. Come and find out how simple it is on Tuesday, November 6 when the Town of Apple Valley hosts its next LifeStream blood drive.
Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. Those 15 and 16 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center or community blood drive. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process. Donating blood takes about an hour, yet gives someone a lifetime.
Walk-ins are welcome, but it may be best to make an appointment by calling 1-800-TRY-GIVING or visiting their website at http://www.lstream.org/.
If saving a life isn’t enough of an incentive, LifeStream gives away enticing goodies for each donation including donor loyalty points from LifeStream that you can redeem for complimentary items. This month, donors will receive a free movie ticket and a coupon good for discounted tickets to Knott’s Soak City Palm Springs.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Conference Center at 14975 Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley adjacent to Town Hall. The south half of the building is being used as a polling precinct, so blood donors should park on the north side, in view of the Aquatic Center. Contact LifeStream at 1-800-TRY-GIVING for more information.
