(Victorville)– –VVCH will repeat the popular drive thru flu shot clinics for the 2012-13 flu season beginning Tuesday October 31st from 6am to 10am. The flu vaccines will again be administered via drive-thru clinic at the main entrance driveway of the hospital on Eleventh Street. There will be a $2.00 supply fee. Two-hundred fifty (250) vaccines will be available. Signs will be posted directing participants to the driveway entrance.
Victor Valley Community Hospital is located at 15248 Eleventh Street in Victorville. Adults who wish to receive the vaccine will take Hesperia Road North to B Street, then East on B Street to Eleventh Street and then South on Eleventh Street. Signs and traffic control will be available to direct traffic. Adults who are currently ill, have had previous reactions to flu vaccines or have ever had Guillain-Barre syndrome will not be able to receive the flu vaccine. Adults with severe egg allergies should not receive the flu vaccine. Vaccines are available on a first come, first served basis and will be administered only to adults ages 55 and older. All participants will be screened by nursing staff before the flu vaccine will be administered. At the discretion of nursing staff, some adults may be denied vaccine based upon screening criteria.
