(Victor Valley)- – It will be warm this week, but only a few degrees warmer than last week. High pressure over California will bring sunny, hot and dry days to the region.
If you are heading down the hill the inland areas could see record highs today and possibly tomorrow, in the upper 90s and possible over 100 degrees. For the High Desert we should see high temperatures in the mid 90s today and tomorrow.
Overnight lows in the desert should be in the low to upper 50s, with very little wind.
Temps will cool starting Wednesday as the ridge of high pressure weakens and moves to the southwest. Highs for the rest of the week should drop to the low 90s, even the upper 80s by Saturday.
The height of fire season is upon us here in Southern California. The hot and dry conditions will increase the potential for wildfire. Something to keep in mind, especially around the foothills and through the Cajon Pass. Fire officials remind us that if you see a fire, no matter what size, report it to the nearest fire department or call “911”. Please do not assume that another person made the call. The quicker the public reports a fire, the faster firefighters can respond.
