I-15/Ranchero Road Interchange, A Step Closer To Reality

By Staff Reports

(Victor Valley)–The Board of Directors awarded a $36 M construction contract for the I-15/Ranchero Road Interchange in Hesperia. Construction will start in January 2013 and will take approximately two years to complete. This project received $25.7 M in unexpected funding from the California Transportation Commission (CTC) in May 2012.

The CTC allocated $21.135 M in Proposition 1B Corridor Mobility Im-provement Account (CMIA) funds and $4.55 M in State-Local Part-nership Program funds. These funds were remaining from other state transportation projects that had come in under budget. One of the CTC stipulations was that a project must be near construction and the contract must be awarded by December 2012.

Since this project fit that criteria, SANBAG and the City of Hesperia took the opportunity to receive the funding and expedite the overall $44 M project.
